Touring Options

You don't have to venture too far out of Melbourne to experience some of Victoria's most spectacular attractions.  Please see below for a snapshot of some of Melbourne's most popular destinations:

For personal, customised, luxury tours with a difference, we recommend Australian Coastal & Mountain Tours . Family owned and operated ACMT can tailor a tour to your needs and the sites you want to see - just one-on-one.

To participate in a small tour group we recommend Go West Tours. This award winning, family owned & operated business has two main tours to the Great Ocean Road and the Phillip Island Penguins. Why not try their NEW "Melbourne Crime Tour". All GWT tours begin and end at the front door of Robinsons!

For tours of our major wine regions (Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Macedon Ranges or Bellarine Peninsula), we recommend Wine Tours Victoria for their intimate group sizes, door-to-door service and their nose for a good wine! This is another family owned and operated business - just like us.

Great Ocean Road - discover the breath taking views as you travel one of the world's most scenic coastal roads.  Along the way, you can visit the world-famous Twelve Apostles, the Otways Rainforest and Bells Beach or stop into one of the many resort towns such as Torquay, Lorne, Apollo Bay and Queenscliff.  Even further down the path you can visit Port Campbell, Port Fairy and Portland. Depending on your time schedule, you can explore parts of the Great Ocean Road in a day or take several days to really get to know the area.

Mornington Peninsula - drive along the stunning Mornington Peninsula and relish in the rolling hills with sea views.  Try some of the famous local produce or visit one of the many wineries, all just an hour from Melbourne.

Yarra Valley - this world class wine region is reminiscent of Bordeaux or Burgundy in the South of France, or the Tuscany region of Northern Italy.  Only an hour outside of Melbourne where the crisp clean air and spectacular scenery mix with the very best regional cuisine on offer.

Dandenong Ranges - an idyllic retreat to take in the mountain air and escape the bustle of city life.  Visit the romantic hilltop villages, beautiful gardens and magnificent tall forests.  Spend an afternoon browsing through the many art, antique and handicraft galleries and sample a famous Dandenong Ranges Devonshire cream tea. Take a ride on Puffing Billy, Australia’s oldest steam railway, through thick forests, fern-filled gullies and past gorgeous villages with poetic names like Belgrave, Gembrook and Emerald.

Daylesford and Macedon Ranges - just a stone's throw from Melbourne, explore antique shops and galleries, go boating on the lake, relax with a glass of wine and enjoy fine dining in this charming region.  Also recognised as Victoria's spa country, the region's tranquil atmosphere promotes rest and relaxation.

Goldfields - the Goldfields region is where the dreams and aspirations of the gold rush era are echoed in the landscape. Cities and villages, rich in history, fuse with contemporary vibrancy, creativity and style, art and culture thrive, legends live on and a wealth of new treasures await.

Grampians - offering an abundance of adventure activities, the national and state parks provide a diverse array of native wildlife, picturesque walking tracks and breathtaking scenic attractions.

High Country - the High Country offers something for the nature-based adventurer with it's alpine landscapes,  snow fields and waterways.  If you are more the light hearted adventurer, simply go for the gourmet food and wine.

The Murray - explore the beaches and bushland of the mighty Murray River which forms the border between New South Wales and Victoria.

Phillip Island - a leisurely 90-minute drive from Melbourne, discover Australian wildlife in its natural habitat with penguins, seals, koalas and birds or take to the track on the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Gippsland - visit the famous Gippsland Lakes, the inspiring scenery of Gippsland's high country, the lush fern gullies of the Tarra Bulga National Park, Mt Baw Baw's beautiful wildflowers, spectacular limestone caves near Buchan and magnificent river views at Little River Gorge. With its finest and freshest produce, Gippsland is also the perfect destination for food and wine lovers.
